Call for Papers

The Faculty of Communication at Istanbul Aydın University announces the fourth International Communication, Digitization, and Society Symposium. This year’s theme, “From Democracy to Infocracy,” focuses on the transformation of democratic systems into data-driven governance regimes and the implications of information as a new architecture of power.

The symposium invites theoretical, critical, and empirical contributions addressing the political, social, cultural, economic, legal, and ethical dimensions of digital communication and emerging technologies. We welcome submissions from scholars in Communication and Media Studies as well as interdisciplinary contributions that clearly engage with communication perspectives.

Topics may include (but are not limited to):

Algorithmic Governance and Power
Artificial Intelligence and Media
Digital Journalism and Data Journalism
Digital Surveillance and Privacy
Disinformation and Post-Truth Politics
Platform Capitalism and Digital Labor
Digital Activism and Political Participation
AI, Creativity, and Cultural Production
Filter Bubbles and Polarization
Ethics and Regulation of Digital Technologies

Submission Information

Abstract submission deadline: 2 March 2026
Notification of acceptance: 15 March 2026
Registration deadline: 1 April 2026
Symposium dates: 28–29–30 April 2026
Full paper submission deadline: 27 July 2026

Abstracts (300–500 words) should clearly state the research problem, theoretical framework, methodology, and expected contribution.

There is no submission fee.
A participation fee of 50 Euros is required only from accepted presenters.
No publication fee or article processing charge (APC) is required.
