City St George’s, University of London is continuing a strategic 
expansion of its Media and Communications offerings and seeks to appoint 
a LECTURER IN STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION.

The *Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries* draws 
together academic staff specialising in Advertising, Creative Writing, 
Culture and Creative Industries, English, Marketing Communication, Media 
Management, Media and Communications, Media Production, Public 
Relations, Publishing and Strategic Communication. The department is

The successful applicant will have a good first degree (Communication, 
Media, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field) and 
industry-derived expertise related to Strategic Communication.

Candidates should be able to teach and design modules (as well as 
supervise and examine UG and PGT dissertations) in a way that is 
industry-focusedand socially relevant. Specifically, the successful 
candidate will be able to teach most or all of the following modules 
from our BA Communication, PR and Advertising and our MA Public 
Relations and Strategic Communications and MA Marketing Communications 
degrees:

  * Persuasive Communication (MA)
  * Pitching Campaigns (MA)
  * Media Relations (MA)
  * Reputation Management (MA)
  * Social Media and Community Management (MA)
  * Public Relations (UG, Y2)
  * Strategic and Marketing Communication (UG, Y2)
  * Promotional Campaigns (UG, Y2)
  * Global Communication and Public Affairs (UG, Y3)
  * Communication for the Entertainment Industries (UG, Y3)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher able to engage 
and enthuse a diverse student body that includes international students 
as well as students from widening participation backgrounds. We are also 
looking for a new colleague who is a team player and willing to 
collaborate to strengthen the undergraduate and postgraduate Media and 
Communication courses and contribute to other programmes in the 
department, including CPD, short courses and so on.

closely related field) and industry-derived expertise related to Media. 
Although the precise specialism of the successful candidate’s expertise 
is open, this expertise should either bolster the Department’s existing 
strengths in Media or complement our existing strengths in Media in 
innovative ways. Expertise in (non-journalistic) Media Ethics, Digital 
Distribution, Media Psychology or Working with AI in Media and 
Communications would be especially welcome and the successful candidate 
will be required to teach in these areas, among others.

Candidates should be able to teach and design modules (as well as
