by James Walsh

This unique contribution offers an ambitious poetic reimagining of the
Beatles’ history, drawing upon epic traditions and the influence of
Marlowe, Shakespeare, and Milton. Walsh reflects on the mythic quality
of the Beatles’ story, explores the intersections of poetry, music, and
history, and presents two extracts from his developing work: one
depicting John and Paul’s meeting at the Woolton church fête in 1957
(and George’s subsequent arrival), and another recounting the group’s
first visit to Hamburg.
