Musically Entangled
When: Monday 17 November, 5.30–7pm
Where: The Band Room, New Adelphi Building, M5 4BR
Who: Professor Eric Clarke (University of Oxford) and Dr Maria
Perevedentseva (University of Salford)
Description: It’s an often-stated truism that there are no human
cultures that don’t have music, and many people devote large proportions
of their lives to listening to music, making music, seeking out music,
suffering from music – and sometimes avoiding music. People, it seems,
are musically entangled. But what does it mean to be musically
entangled, what are those entanglements like, and what are the costs and
benefits? Eric Clarke and Maria Perevedentseva offer some prespectives
on these questions based on their recent research, and encourage the
audience to become entangled with them.
Sound and Serious Gaming
