The UCLA Center for the Study of Women | Barbra Streisand Center's invites graduate students to submit their call for proposals for the 36th Annual Thinking Gender Conference.

The conference is free to apply to and attend and will take place April 16 and 17, 2026.

The submission deadline for graduate student proposals is Sunday, October 26, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

_Thinking Gender <https://csw.ucla.edu/events/thinkinggender>_ is an annual UCLA interdisciplinary graduate conference that features work by emerging scholars. The 2026 conference theme is "*Feminist and Queer Ecologies*," exploring how ecologies and environments are shaped, understood, and struggled for in relation to sex, gender, and sexuality. As we continuously see, we are living in unprecedented times with extreme weather and climate that impacts everyone with lasting effects. This is a moment where scholarship is not only necessary but responsible for actively engaging in discussion, conversations, and thought.

The Center for the Study of Women Barbra Streisand Center hopes to draw attention to different scales of activism, community scholarship, and solidarities by encouraging proposals in a range of formats, including scholarly papers, creative works and multi-modalities.

This year's conference will provide an invaluable opportunity for activists, scholars, organizer, and artists committed to advancing interdisciplinary and intersectional feminist scholarship.
