Invitation to Participate in the 2nd Intl. Multilingual Creative Writing 
Conference — Nov 6-8, 2025 (Logroño & San Millán de la Cogolla, Spain)

The ‘lifeline’ for the 2nd International Multilingual Creative Writing 
Conference is just around the corner.

Members of commlist are kindly invited to participate in the 2nd 
International Multilingual Creative Writing Conference, to be held 
November 6-8, 2025, in Logroño and San Millán de la Cogolla, Spain. The 
conference is organized by the University of La Rioja (through its 
Campus Valle de la Lengua), co-organized by The City College of New York 
(IAS-CWE), in collaboration with the San Millán de la Cogolla Foundation.

After the resounding success of our first conference in New York 
(November 2024), which brought together about 150 writers, researchers, 
translators, editors, and students from 72 institutions across the USA, 
Canada, Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe, we are eager to build 
on that momentum.

What to expect:

Plenary talks by distinguished authors and literary personalities.

Panels with academic and creative presentations in multiple languages 
(Spanish, English, French, and others) covering topics such as creative 
writing pedagogy; creative writing as a tool for personal development; 
publishing; literary translation; literary journals; audiovisual 
creation, including scripts, dubbing, subtitling; and commented readings 
of own poems and short stories.

A guided visit to the historic Monastery of San Millán de la Cogolla, 
known as one of the birthplaces of the Spanish language.

How to Participate:

Submit a 200-250 word abstract to

For commented readings (own short stories or poetry), also include a 
sample text (4-5 pages).

Duration of presentations: ~20 minutes.

Deadline for proposals (extended): September 29, 2025.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by October 2, 2025.

Fees & Registration: €60

University of La Rioja students and those attending without presenting: €25

Optional Saturday lunch: €35
