[Commlist] CFP: V Latin American Conference of Digital Anthropology: Navigating the Everyday

Alice Roberte is pleased to invite you to the V Latin American 
Conference of Digital Anthropology. This will be an OPEN, ONLINE and 
FREE event, to be held on December 3-5, 2025, under the title Navigating 
the everyday. The conference is for anyone working on the intersection 
between anthropology (or other social sciences) and the digital world 
in/of Latin America and its diasporas.

* ABOUT THE CONFERENCE *

At #ELAD 2025, we question the place of the digital world in the 
everyday, and the place of the everyday in the digital world. We begin 
with the fishing net (atarraya, esparavel) as a metaphor for considering 
current times: that vast algorithmic network that enfolds us, and 
sometimes traps us, but at the same time we contribute to weaving, 
manipulating it artisanally in our daily practices. We aim to 
collectively consider the environment of technologies, platforms, and 
devices that has come to constitute "the mundane." We seek to address it 
in its various facets, from what is visible on and through screens, 
breaking down the boundaries between public and private spaces 
(artificial intelligence, datafication, influencerization, 
platformization), to what remains hidden or underground (internet 
infrastructures, hacking, the deep web).
