We’re delighted to invite you to the upcoming 2025 ICA Media Sociology
Postconference on the theme: “Theorizing Disruption and Consolidation in
Media Sociology: Youth, News, Inequities, & Politics”
*Date: Tuesday, June 17, 2025*
Time: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM (MT)
Location: University of Denver (off-site ICA venue)
Format: In-person & Virtual options available
Held in conjunction with the *ICA’s 75th Anniversary*, this
postconference offers a vital space to reflect on the evolving role of
media sociology in an era marked by rapid technological change,
political polarization, and deepening social inequities.
We welcome scholars from diverse disciplines, regions, and
methodological approaches to share work-in-progress, explore theoretical
innovations, and engage in conversations that speak to both academic and
policy audiences.

Participants will also be invited to contribute to a special issue of
/First Monday/ and take part in writing workshops focused on knowledge
production as disruption and consolidation.
Local hosts include Professor Lynn Schofield Clark and Associate
Professor Erika Polson from the University of Denver.
