5th International Scientific Symposium of Pissouri Village – Cyprus

“Plans for the Resolution of the Cyprus Issue and War Crises – Conflicts 
Worldwide in the 21st Century”

November 14th & 15th, 2025

The 5th International Scientific Symposium of Pissouri, themed “Plans 
for the Resolution of the Cyprus Issue and War Crises – Conflicts 
Worldwide in the 21st Century,”

The symposium will take place on 14-15 November 2025 at Columbia Beach 
Resort (14/11) and Pissouri Cultural Centre (15/11), in Pissouri 
Village, Cyprus.

The 5th International Scientific Symposium of Pissouri focuses on a 
topic that remains at the forefront of contemporary debates and public 
discourse, as well as ongoing efforts to resolve the Cyprus issue for 
nearly seven decades. Furthermore, the symposium will address war crises 
and conflicts worldwide in the 21st century, including conflicts in our 
neighbouring region, such as the Middle East (Israel-Hamas) and the war 
between Russia and Ukraine.

We invite paper on the following thematic areas, while also welcoming 
additional topics that fall within its broader theme:

•            Humanities and Social Sciences

•            History

•            Classical Studies

•            Political Science

•            Communication Studies

•            Media and Journalism

This conference is organized by  by the Association of Expatriates and 
Friends of Pissouri, in collaboration with the Cyprus University of 
Technology and the Pissouri Community Council. The conference is under 
the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of 
Cyprus. The deadline to submit paper abstracts (up to 250 words) for the 
conference is 30 July 2025.  The participation fee for a presentation at 
the symposium is €90 per presenter, €120 for two presenters, and €140 
for three presenters, €90 for Online presentation. Acceptance 
notifications will be sent by 20 August 2025.

Opening of abstract submission: 5 May 2025

Deadline for abstract submission: 5 August 2025

Notification of abstract acceptance and conference participation: 25 
August 2025

Deadline for full paper submission: 7 November 2025

Deadline for presentation submission (.ppt): 10 November 2025

Deadline for final paper submission for publication: 30 April 2026

The symposium will be held in the Greek language. If there are a 
sufficient number of presentations in English, there will be a separate 
section in English.
