FAccT Community Meetup

A Local Meetup of the ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and
Transparency (FAccT 2025) Community

Date: June 28-29

Location: BNBU campus

Website: https://socialresponsible.net/

We invite you to contribute to AI & Society: Shaping a Responsible
Future, a local meetup of the FAccT community centered around the
critical societal impacts of Artificial Intelligence. This event aims
to foster discussion, share insights, and present cutting-edge
research on the ethical, social, and technical challenges and
opportunities presented by AI technologies. We welcome submissions
from researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community members
interested in shaping a responsible AI future.

This meetup provides a valuable platform to present your work, engage
with the local FAccT community, and discuss the pressing issues
surrounding AI. We particularly encourage submissions that explore the
real-world consequences of AI systems on individuals and society.
Furthermore, we warmly welcome submissions from the FAccT community,
including papers that were not accepted by the main FAccT 2025
conference, offering an alternative venue for impactful work.

We welcome submissions across all areas of Artificial Intelligence,
with a particular emphasis on the following potential topics:

Potential Topics:

*Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency (FAccT) of AI systems

*Bias detection and mitigation in AI models and data

*Explainable AI (XAI) and interpretable machine learning

*Trust and human-AI interaction

*User perceptions and understanding of AI systems

*The societal impact of recommender systems

*Ethical considerations in AI chatbot and smart AI assistant design
and deployment

*AI and its impact on labor, education, healthcare, and other societal domains

*The role of AI in shaping public discourse and democracy

*Privacy and security implications of AI technologies

*Legal and regulatory frameworks for AI governance

*Participatory and inclusive approaches to AI development

*AI for social good and addressing societal challenges

*Case studies and real-world deployments of AI with societal implications

*Methods for evaluating the societal impact of AI systems

*The future of AI and its long-term societal consequences

All submissions must be in PDF format and adhere to the ACM format.
Please submit your paper through the EasyChair system:
https://easychair.org/conferences?conf=ais25

We invite submissions of original research contributions for
presentation at the conference. Authors are invited to submit their
work in one of the following categories:

Full Papers:

*These submissions should present mature and complete research work
with significant findings.

*The maximum length for full paper submissions is 14 pages, excluding
all figures, tables, and references.

*Accepted full papers will be considered for oral presentation slots
in the conference program.

Extended Abstracts:

*Extended abstracts should outline ongoing research, preliminary
results, or novel ideas that are not yet ready for a full paper
submission.

*The maximum length for extended abstract submissions is 4 pages,
excluding any figures, tables, and a brief list of key references.

*Accepted extended abstracts will be scheduled for either a short oral
presentation or a poster session, depending on the program structure

*Indicate the desired paper category (Full Paper or Extended Abstract)
during the submission process.

*By submitting your work, you confirm that the content is original and
has not been previously published or is currently under review
elsewhere.

*At least one author of each accepted paper/abstract must register for
the conference and present the work.

To ensure a fair and unbiased review process, all submissions must be
anonymized. Please remove all author names and affiliations from the
paper, and avoid any acknowledgments or other identifying information
within the manuscript. References to your own prior work should be
made in the third person (e.g., "As shown in [Author's Previous

Anonymity Policy:

All submissions will undergo a double-blind review process. Authors
are responsible for ensuring the anonymity of their submissions. This
includes:

*Removing all author names and affiliations from the title page and
throughout the paper.

*Avoiding explicit self-references that would reveal your identity
(e.g., "In our previous work [citation], we showed..."). Instead, use
third-person phrasing (e.g., "The work by [Author's Previous Work]
showed...").

*Anonymizing file names and document properties.

*Being mindful of information that could indirectly reveal your
identity if making source code or data publicly available.

Submissions that violate the anonymity policy may be rejected without review.
