[Commlist] Stellenbosch University's World Press Freedom Celebration

The Department of Journalism at Stellenbosch University is hosting its 
annual World Press Freedom Day celebration on 5 May 2025 at Devon Valley 
Hotel, Stellenbosch. This year's event will focus on the theme of "Media 
Sustainability and Independence." This theme highlights the economic 
challenges to the media’s sustainability and independence and the impact 
of these challenges on the media’s ability to contribute to the free 
flow of information, media independence, and global efforts in line with 
the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 16.10, which aims to 
ensure access to information and protect fundamental freedoms.

This year's event will feature panels of seasoned media researchers and 
practitioners and offer robust engagement for all in attendance. If you
