and Bad Taste*

Featuring 12 international speakers, this conference will dive into the 
intersections of film, literature, genre, arts and illustration, 
unpacking the aesthetic and cultural impact of this uniquely 
transgressive genre.

Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, author of /The Giallo Canvas: Art, Excess and 
Horror Cinema/, will be joining us as the keynote speaker.

The event features three themed panels:

- From Crime Narratives to Giallo Films: Fiction, Cinema and Reception 
(1950s–1970s)
- The Afterlife of Giallo: Society, Metacinema and Gendered Violence in 
Italian Cinema
- Visual Culture and Giallo: Artistic Dimensions Across Cinema, 
Literature and Beyond
