[Commlist] International Call for Artistic Research Work
Sun Jan 26 17:27:19 GMT 2025
INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR ARTISTIC RESEARCH WORK
The European University FilmEU strives to develop and reinforce the
field of artistic research in European Higher Education (or HEI),
emphasizing the exploration of diverse cultural narratives and
traditions, encouraging novel approaches to blending disciplines like
technology, science, and humanities with the arts, and addressing
pressing social issues, fostering critical thinking, and promoting
dialogue on political or ethical questions through artistic methods.
FilmEU, currently brings together eight European HEIs. Each year FilmEU
WIRE organises an Artistic Research Exhibition in conjunction with the
FilmEU Summit. This exhibition is an important opportunity to share
artistic research outcomes from FilmEU and beyond. It highlights and
showcases the impact of these efforts on both the cultural industries
and society. ARE connects FilmEU with the public and shows how its work
benefits a wider audience. ARE Sofia. 2-6 June 2025 Synthetic Rewilding,
between Nature and the Machine
The 2025 edition of the Artistic Research Exhibition calls for a
profound exploration of the interplay between organic and artificial
realms, seeking a deeper understanding of co-creation, cycles, and
reciprocity. Artists and researchers are invited to delve into the
liminal spaces where ecosystems and algorithms intertwine, where the
natural and the synthetic blur into new forms of expression, by
provoking questions of ethical and aesthetic convergence, temporal and
evolutionary perspectives, and the transformative role of technology in
art and life. The
Synthetic Rewilding: Between Nature and the Machine welcomes
contributions that challenge conventions, expand horizons, and embrace
the dynamic dialogue between humanity and its environment.
