[Commlist] Call for Papers | I Cine Bárbaras– International Conference on Cinema and Audiovisual

We are delighted to announce the Call for Papers for the *I Cine 
Bárbaras – International Conference on Cinema and Audiovisual*, which 
will take place on *October 23 and 24, 2025*, at *Lusófona University – 
Porto University Centre*.

This conference aims to be a space for reflection and debate dedicated 
to *gender studies, feminist theories, and intersectional approaches in 
cinema and audiovisual media*, bringing together researchers, 
filmmakers, curators, and other professionals in the field.

We invite the submission of presentation proposals related to the 
following thematic areas (among others):

  *

    Cinema and women filmmakers

  *

    Feminisms in cinema and audiovisual media

  *

    Intersectional approaches in cinema

  *

    Women and non-binary people in film production and exhibition

  *

    Feminist film theories

Proposals must be submitted in the form of an abstract (max. 350 words) 
in *Portuguese, Spanish, or English*, by *July 11, 2025*, via the form
