[Commlist] Ebook From chalk to chip

We are a group of professors from the University of Girona(Catalonia, 
Spain) specializing in Tourism and Communication, and we have been 
experimenting with the use of artificial intelligence as a teaching 
support tool. With the accumulated experience and consultation of 
various materials, we have developed a manual that aims to be a support 
guide for university teachers in these fields: “From chalk to chip: the 
use of artificial intelligence in the classroom”.

Implementing AI in the classroom is not easy, so we have compiled a 
series of proposals that include both theoretical reflections and 
practical applications, as well as examples of exercises that can be 
adapted. Additionally, some chapters are dedicated to research, 
explaining how AI can support the review of the state of the art and 
both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

The document is available for freeand you can find a Spanish and an 
English version. We hope it will be useful to the teachers and the 
researchers from the field of Communication, and we will be happy to 
answer any questions you may have.

Somos un grupo de profesores de Turismo y Comunicación de la Universidad 
de Girona (Cataluña, España) y hemos estado experimentando con el uso de 
la inteligencia artificial como soporte docente. Con la experiencia 
acumulada y la consulta de materiales diversos, hemos elaborado un 
manual que pretende ser una guía de apoyo a los docentes universitarios 
en estos ámbitos: “De la tiza al chip: el uso de la inteligencia 
artificial en las aulas”.

La implantación de la IA en el aula no es fácil, por lo que hemos 
recogido una serie de propuestas que incluyen tanto reflexiones de 
carácter teórico como aplicaciones prácticas y ejemplos de ejercicios 
que pueden ser adaptados. Además, algunos capítulos están dedicados a la 
investigación, explicando cómo la IA puede apoyar la revisión del estado 
del arte y las metodologías cuantitativas y cualitativas.

El documento está disponible en abierto y puede ser descargado sin coste 
alguno. Hay una versión en español y otra en inglés. Esperamos que sea 
de utilidad a los docentes e investigadores del campo de la comunicación 
y estaremos encantados de resolver cualquier duda que nos puedan plantear.
