[Commlist] Costa Rica Documentary Summer School 2025

We’re delighted to announce the launch of a new, intensive 
three-week*“Costa Rica Documentary Summer School 2025.”*We’d really 
appreciate it if you could help us spread the word. This course may be 
of interest to students wanting to acquire filmmaking skills.

The*“Costa Rica Documentary Summer School 2025”*will take place between 
5-25 July 2025 in San José, Costa Rica. The course will be delivered in 
English and provides theoretical as well as practical training. Students 
will have to complete several film exercises and produce, in groups, an 
8-minute documentary. The films will be screened to all participants at 
the end of the course in San José. There will be a screening in London too.

In order to enrol on the course, applicants must fill in a short 
application form and submit it to University College London* by 1 May 
2025**.*The total cost is $3,000 (USD) and includes course fee, training 
in film-making, access to film teams and film equipment provided by the 
Escuela de Ciencias de la Comunicación Colectiva, University of Costa 
Rica; accommodation at the Gran Casa Universitaria, Boutique Hotel; half 
board (breakfast and dinner); travel to film locations; but does not 
include flight to Costa Rica; travel insurance; health insurance.

This is a joint project between University College London, the 
University of Costa Rica, Arts University Bournemouth, and the 
University of Westminster.
