The special issue (see table of contents) offers insights into
fundamental changes in the media landscape that have challenged the
traditional ways in which content for children is produced as well as
circulated in some European markets, especially by their national public
services. The authors of the essays emphasize how these changes relate
to issues of policies and platforms, as well as production that also
imply changes for screenwriting and storytelling in an on-demand era,
with new audience habits produced by the pandemic period and its social
effects.
The aim of this special issue is to establish across-the-board interest
as well as a continuous exchange of notions about best practice and
emerging ideas among academic researchers, writers, producers and
commissioners with and interest in this topic in the coming years.
