[Commlist] conference : Metamorphosis: Anita Mui and Hong Kong Popular Culture

2023 marked the 20th anniversary of the demise of Anita Mui. Named as 
the "Daughter of Hong Kong", Mui was a Cantopop diva and an iconic star 
in Hong Kong cinema. The upconing conference, "*Metamorphosis: Anita Mui 
and Hong Kong Popular Culture*" (變：梅艷芳與香港流行文化研討會), organized by 
the Hong Kong Studies program at the University of Hong Kong, gathers 
scholars and cultural workers to discuss the superstar's legacy with the 
focus on her incessant and creative impulse of metamorphosis, which has 
yielded a wide array of images that have become timeless impressions in 
Hong Kong popular culture.

The conference will take place on February 3rd from 9:45 am to 5 pm. It 
is a hybrid conference conducted in Cantonese. You are welcome to attend
