[Commlist] Assistant Professor position at USC Cinema and Media Studies

The Division of Cinema and Media Studies at the School of Cinematic Arts 
of the University of Southern California invites applications for a 
full-time, tenure-track faculty position in media studies at the 
Assistant Professor level, with a particular interest in the industries, 
histories, theories and technologies around television across its many 
shifting meanings. We are looking for applicants who take a critical 
approach to analyzing issues of power, difference, and materiality.


Candidates must possess a Ph.D. at the time of appointment and should 
demonstrate excellence in teaching and research. The successful 
candidate will be expected to teach a range of offerings related to 
television and media culture, from large introductory undergraduate 
lecture courses through smaller graduate seminars. Interested candidates 
should provide a cover letter, curriculum vitae including names and 
contact details for three references, and one 25-40-page sample of 
recent scholarship.


Minimum Education: Ph.D.


Minimum Experience: One year of teaching experience or its equivalent, 
to demonstrate teaching excellence.


Preferred Education: Ph.D in film & media studies and related fields.


Preferred Experience: One to three years of teaching experience or its 
equivalent, to demonstrate teaching excellence.


The core salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 per year. 
This is a 9-month, full-time, tenure-track position.
