*Fixed term for 36 months, 0.5 FTE*
*Grade 7 (£37,724 - £42,308 per annum, pro rata)*
The School of Arts and Humanities is seeking to appoint an experienced
teacher and/or industry professional as University Practitioner to teach
screen acting, directing, and other modules in related areas.
You will be part of a dynamic team in Media and Performance delivering
courses such as the BA Drama, Theatre and Performance, BA Performance
for Screen, BA Acting & Performance, and BA Film Making. You may teach
and eventually lead modules such as Acting in Film and Television,
Performance Lab, Cinematography and Camera Work, and Storytelling and
Editing, as well as supervising collaborative undergraduate film
production final projects. You will work closely with staff in film
making and performing arts and contribute in vital ways to the growth of
the Yorkshire Film and Television School (YFTS).
This is an opportunity to develop your pedagogical and research skills
by working with committed and passionate peers to guide our diverse
student cohorts through training and education as the future performers,
directors, and creative workers in the rapidly changing screen industries.
A Masters Degree in the arts and humanities is required, along with
substantial professional experience in screen acting and/or directing.
Applicants should be well versed in established industry processes while
also highly aware of ethical and pedagogical issues, including those
related to equity, diversity and inclusion.
