CFP: Journalism & News Media area, Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture
Association
The Journalism & News Media area of the Mid-Atlantic Popular/American
Culture Association (MAPACA) is seeking proposals for its upcoming 2023
conference. This area aims to study how journalism and news media are
influenced by and influence culture in significant ways.
Submissions may address, but are not limited to, topics such as:
* Journalism history
* Evolution of journalism practice
* Analyses of news coverage
* Issues involved with special types of journalism (e.g., politics,
sports, music, health, etc.)
* Journalism ethics
* Community journalism
* Hyperlocal journalism
* Blogging/microblogging as journalism
* Entertainment/celebrity news
* Journalism education
* Journalism and technology
Interested presenters are asked to submit a short abstract (less than
300 words) by June 30, 2023. Full submission guidelines can be found at:

The annual Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture Association conference
will be held Nov. 9-11, 2023 at the Sonesta Rittenhouse Square in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.
