Vacancy: Associate Professor of Aesthetics and Culture, Aarhus 
University, Denmark

The School of Communication and Culture at Aarhus University invites 
applications for the position of associate professor of aesthetics and 
culture based at the Department of Art History, Aesthetics & Culture and 
Museology.

Aesthetics and Culture is an interdisciplinary research community and 
study programme with a focus on the interdependencies of artistic and 
cultural practices, everyday aesthetics, cultural and creative 
industries, cultural institutions and policies in modern and 
contemporary society. As an associate professor, you will contribute to 
strengthening Aesthetics and Culture’s focus on the role of the fields 
of cultural and artistic practices in addressing societal challenges 
and/or on the values and ecologies of everyday culture, publicly funded 
culture, and cultural and creative industries.

The appointment is full time and tenured and begins on 1 January 2024 or 
as soon as possible thereafter.
