[Commlist] first issue of Film Economy published

The first edition of Film Economy journal is out:

Film Economy is an international peer-reviewed electronic journal of 
film political economy which addresses issues relevant to the 21st 
century film ecosystem, including (1) film business issues with topics 
such as film production, distribution, exhibition, marketing, 
publishing, promotion, and film’s adaptation to new technologies, also 
including (2) film policies and film macroeconomic issues with topics 
such as film laws, film distribution system, box office calculation, 
cinema chains regulations, film’s economic connections to other sectors, 
national cinema discussion, film as promotion for tourism, provincial 
production, cultural politics of representation, and also issues of (3) 
non-commercial film screening, festivals, archiving, film communities 
and film non-profit activities, and last but not least with also issues 
of (4) film workers and human resource such as competency standard and 
assessments, film education system, film school curriculum, and film 
pedagogy (as well as film as pedagogy).

Film Economy seeks to promote innovative scholarship that challenges 
traditional canons and established perspectives and enhance work that 
bridges disciplinary research around the issues enumerated above, 
especially in the lines of work in cinema studies, social sciences, 
cultural studies, business and economy. It is interested in publishing a 
broad and international range of critical, scholarly articles on cinema 
studies that appeal to academic researchers in government and private 
agencies and educational institutions, as well as members of the public 
who are concerned with exploring and examining contemporary issues in 
the complex nexus interconnecting political economic issues of cinema.
