Abstracts Due: 18th February 2023

A new call for papers is now open for the issue no. 5 of the biannual 
scientific journal /Connessioni Remote/, directed by Anna Maria 
Monteverdi with the vice-editor in chief Laura

Gemini and published by the Unimi Department of Cultural and 
Environmental Heritage. The editorial board will select original 
contributions for this miscellaneous issue due to be published in June 
2023. We invite Italian and foreign scholars to submit essays 
investigating the main topics of the journal: Techno-theatre (Performing 
arts and technology); Artivism (Media Activism, Network as art).

Proposals should be submitted in Italian or English, with an abstract of 
450 words max, accompanied by the author’s bio of 200 words max, a 
partial bibliography and 4-5 keywords. Proposals should be sent to the

<mailto:(rivistaconnessioni.remote /at/ gmail.com)> no later than 18 February 2023.

If the proposal is accepted, the texts will be subjected to a double 
blind peer review by two experts who will provide their judgement 
(positive, positive with requested changes, negative). The authors will 
in any case receive the evaluation sheet containing the reviewers’ 
judgement and indications.


Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

  * Theatre, technology and political subjectivities
  * Artivism
  * Media and Activism
  * Net. Art: practices and histories
  * Relationship between institutions, artistic practices and
    historical-geopolitical contexts
  * Artistic practices and political movements
  * Curatorial practices and socio-cultural communities
  * Spectatorial practices in mediatised and online performance 
environments

Timeline:

Abstract proposals must be submitted no later than 18 February 2023.

Acceptance of proposals will be notified by 10 March 2023. If accepted, 
full papers, edited in accordance with the editorial rules of the 
journal, should be sent no later than 23 April 2023 via the journal's 
OJS platform.

By 20 May 2023, the editors will communicate the reviewers' decision.

Connessioni Remote does not charge Article Processing Charges (APC) or
