Research Assistant/Postdoctoral Research Associate - Digital Media and
Society Institute (DMSI) - Grade: 6/7

Brief Description: The successful applicant will work with the
collective group of researchers and postdoctoral fellows in the Digital
Media and Society Institute (DMSI) to investigate the role of digital
media products and services in contemporary society and its impact on
individuals, communities and organisations. Specifically, the role
involves assisting with the development of new digital tools and
visualisation techniques that draw on Explainable AI approaches to
analyse the content and interactions in digital media at scale.

Post-Doctoral Research Associate - Grade 7 Digital Media and Society
Institute (DMSI) - Data Use in Organisations / Developing a Minimum
Digital Living Standard
Fixed Term: until 31st March 2025.

Brief Description: The DMSI has been established to investigate the role
of digital media on society, including digital inequalities, digital
divides, and variations in data and digital literacies arising from
people’s in/ability to harness the potential of digital technologies.
The position involves working on several projects hosted in DMSI:
Nuffield and Welsh Government Funded: Developing a Minimum Digital
Living Standard; DSTL Funded: Understanding Data Use in Organisations;
Greater Manchester Combined Authority: Social Housing Digital Inclusion
Pilots; AHRC Modern Slavery PEC: Digital experience of survivors.
