[Commlist] call for papers "La valle dell'Eden" #38

CALL FOR PAPERS #38 January-June 2021


East of Eden/La Valle dell’Eden – New series Journal of Cinema, 
Photography, Media

The issue #38 of La Valle dell’Eden/East of Eden – Journal of Cinema, 
Photography and Media is in preparation. It is a miscellaneous issue 
open to a wide range of researches and methodologies. In particular, it 
will be interested to the following topics:
Acting, stardom, celebrities.
Archives, restoration, memory.
Avant-garde, experimental films, videoart.
Fashion.
Gender, identity.
Graphic novel, game, web.
Narrative, writing, genres.
Industry, production, professions.
Intermediality.
Reception, critical discourse.
Screen, technologies, apparatus.
Series, broadcasting, formats.
Sound, music, audiovision.
Spectators, audience, consumption.
Style, modes of representation.
Visual culture, image aesthetic.

Referees
Every paper will be read at least by two non blind referees, who will 
evaluate and discuss the essays both with their authors and the 
editorial board. The referees will be either members of the advisory 
board, the editorial board or the editorial staff, or scholars not 
linked to the journal, both Italian and foreigner. This way, La Valle 
dell’Eden/East of Eden chooses a system of open review, in the 
perspective of a broad and agile discussion with contributors, in order 
to promote a non ritual and not too long review process, with a frank 
and productive dialogue between the authors and the journal.

Languages of publication
The journal will publish essays in three languages: English, French, 
Italian. All the essays will have an abstract in English.

There is no APC or submission fee to publish a work in this journal.

Deadlines
Proposal submission (max. 200 words): January 11, 2021. The journal will 
answer within January 15, 2021. Paper submission (max 4.000/5.000 
words): March 31, 2021. Each paper must be linked to one of the above 
listed sections. Proposals must be sent to: (eden /at/ unito.it)
