This is an opportunity to join Communication and Media at Loughborough 
University, part of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. 
Communication and Media is recognized nationally and internationally for 
its excellence in research, teaching and enterprise. In the latest UK 
Research Excellence Framework (2014), Communication and Media at 
Loughborough was ranked 2nd in the UK for research intensity, with 90% 
of its research “world leading” or “internationally excellent.” It was 
ranked Top in the UK in the Times Good University Guide in 2018, 2019, 
2020, and 2021, and Top in the UK in the Complete University Guide for 2021.

Applicants for the post of University Teacher must have experience, and 
evidence of excellence, in teaching communication and media to 
undergraduate and post graduate students. The post holder will be 
expected to help lead teaching and contribute to other areas of the 
curriculum as required, including the delivery and development of 
undergraduate and post graduate programmes. They must be able to support 
students and cooperate with colleagues in the continuous review and 
development of core Loughborough Communication & Media Modules as well 
as provide strategic leadership to teaching at the programme level.

Candidates are expected to have a PhD (or close to completion) in 
Communication and Media or a closely related discipline, an active 
research profile, and the clear potential to contribute to the 
University Strategy of Building Excellence in a high-performing HE 
environment.
