Recently published! You may be interested in taking a look at /Women in the Irish Film Industry: Stories and Storytellers. /It is an interdisciplinary collection that critically explores the experiences and reflections of Irish women practitioners and, across a range of chapters, situates them within a very specific historical, social and cultural context and further positions them within a male dominated film industry.

Chapters assess the contribution of women as creators of culture - screenwriters, directors, producers, cinematographers, editors, animators, film festival programmers and educators. The absence of women from key creative roles is also addressed as it has implications for the kinds of stories being told and for the employment and creative opportunities available to women.

Contributors echo the ongoing, vigorous debates regarding the dearth of women in the international industry and tease out why that industry is so male dominated and what steps can be taken to challenge the under representation of women.
