[Commlist] Screenworks Volume 10.1 - William Brown's Golden Gate - published

Mon Mar 16 18:59:18 GMT 2020

We are pleased to announce the publication of our sixth entry in Screenworks Volume 10.1, William Brown’s /Golden Gate/, https://doi.org/10.37186/swrks/10.1/6.

/Golden Gate/ is a poetic video essay reworking footage from 43 movies, spanning eight decades. Through intertitles, repetition, loops and other formal strategies, the film creates an affective and theoretical argument concerning the role of the Golden Gate Bridge in American cinema and American culture more generally.

Volume 10.1 <https://doi.org/10.37186/swrks/10.1> is an open "rolling" volume which means we are accepting practice-research submissions on any subject throughout this academic year. More information and guidelines can be found online at our submissions page: http://screenworks.org.uk/submissions
