Thessaloniki International Media Summer Academy is jointly organised by
School of Journalism and Mass Communications of Aristotle
University Thessaloniki (AUTh), Jean Monnet Chair for European
Integration Journalism along with Deutsche Welle Akademie(DW Akademie),
Center for Media and Information Literacy at Temple University USA,
University of Zagreb Croatia, University of Novi-Sad Serbia, Beijing
Foreign Studies University , Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University
(XJTLU)National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Hallym University
Korea, Digital Communication Network Southeast Europe Hub and Proof
organisation, organise the 4th Thessaloniki International Media Summer
Academy: *New Trends in Media and Journalism: "Global Media models and
emerging technology trends - AI, VR, Verification" -* in Thessaloniki,
Greece between *26th of June-3rd of July 2020. *The joint initiative
brings together the reputation, expertise of respected and well-known
institutions from Europe, Asia and USA. In today’s world, accurate
information is an increasingly critical resource for our understanding
of the world. Building on the success of the 2019 Summer Academy School,
we are looking forward to welcoming another cohort of student
participants from all over the world to *Thessaloniki International
Media Summer Academy.*
The Summer Academy intends to be a major forum where current issues and
research developments will be presented. For this purpose, eminent
international scholars will be invited to share their expertise in the
form of lectures, collaborative study designs, digital content
development, and new models.
This year emphasis will be in Artificial Intelligence, Virtual
Reality,disinformation, verification and Mobile Journalism. The
intensive multi-disciplinary training course aims to provide in-depth
knowledge and robust skills on important topics and evolutions in media
and communication. Participants in this course will emerge with a better
understanding of the latest academic research, policy, market and
professional trends in the focused area, as well as develop a network of
colleagues from all over the world to share their experiences, ideas and
points of views.
It is a unique opportunity to benefit from the Organizers outstanding
research into journalism/communication combined with the expertise of
pioneering media professionals. The program is structured around keynote
presentations by distinguished *experts,* interactive small group work,
and roundtable discussions.
