[Commlist] *Jeunesse* - Call for Book Reviewers on Theme of Laughter

Sat Nov 07 12:10:33 GMT 2020

/Jeunesse: Young People, Texts, Cultures/ seeks academic reviews to be published in our upcoming Special Issue on Laughter (Summer 2021). Reviews will be due on or around February 1, 2021.

/Jeunesse/ publishes two types of academic reviews:

 1. Standard academic reviews of a single monograph or anthology in the
    1500-2000 word range.

 2. Longer academic reviews in the 3500-4000 word range of groupings of
    texts that have in common a focus on one particular theme, genre, or
    issue.

As such, we seek reviews of texts with the following themes published since 2019, requesting that authors take into consideration the overall issue’s theme of “laughter” in their review:

  * Laughter and community: inclusion and isolation
  * Satire/parody in children’s media; dual audiences
  * Laughter as expression; laughter and affect
  * Laughter in story, film, TV, video games, vlogs, and other media
    designed for or created and/or consumed by young people
  * Laughter as interactional resource

The full list of the texts available to review within these thematic categories is available on our website here: http://jeunessejournal.ca/index.php/yptc/announcement/view/23 <http://jeunessejournal.ca/index.php/yptc/announcement/view/23>

To learn more about the theme of the special issue, view the original CFP here <http://jeunessejournal.ca/index.php/yptc/announcement/view/22>.

*Please send expressions of interest along with a brief statement of disciplinary affiliations and relevant research to (jeunesse /at/ uwinnipeg.ca) with the subject line “Book Reviews - Laughter.” *
