The School of Journalism and Communication at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is looking for a vibrant scholar to join as Assistant Professor / Associate Professor (tenure-track). Applications are welcomed from candidates with research interests in critical communication studies, preferably with an emphasis on research about digital data, algorithm, and/or logistical media.



Applicants should have (i) a PhD in Communication or other related field; and (ii) strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Applicants for Assistant Professorship should demonstrate research potential and a cohesive research agenda. Applicants for Associate Professorship should also have an established record of research and publications.



Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August 2021, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications will be offered. The comprehensive benefit package provided by the University includes leave, medical care, retirement scheme contributions, plus a contract-end gratuity and housing benefits.
