The School of Performing and Digital Arts at Royal Holloway welcomes applications for a PhD College Scholarship for entry in 2020-21.

The School is comprised of three outstanding departments – Drama, Theatre and Dance; Media Arts; and Music. For information about the research culture and activities of each department and links to potential academic supervisors, see:

Applications are invited for doctoral projects that intersect with the main research priorities of the School. These priorities are:

  * Arts and media heritage and archiving;
  * Digital creativity in drama, media and music;
  * Global/transnational displacement and culture;
  * Inclusion and diversity in the media and performing arts.

The studentship includes a stipend at Research Council UK 2020-21 rates of £15,285 + £2,000 London weighting per annum (plus fees at home/EU rates of £4,407) for three and half years. Studentships can be either full or part-time.

Applicants should have a good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, and a Masters-level qualification or equivalent which meets AHRC requirements for research training. Candidates with relevant work/professional experience who are considering doing a PhD are also encouraged to apply.
