Wed Nov 06 17:31:58 GMT 2019

The European Research Council Advanced Grant project ‘STUDIOTEC: Film Studios in Britain, France, Germany and Italy, 1930-60’ (PI Prof. Sarah Street, University of Bristol) is now recruiting for four post-doctoral research posts. The successful candidates will conduct primary historical research on film studios including their architectures, infrastructures, practices, professional and technical personnel. They will work with the project’s other team members investigating how artistic practices responded to transnational flows in film studio expertise, comparing how studio spaces, practices, designs and technical innovations changed over time. Applicants should hold a PhD in Film Studies/History and/or field closely related to the project’s themes and have specific linguistic skills that depend on each post. The full-time posts are each for 3.5 years and are open to be filled by 1 March 2020 or at the successful candidates’ earliest availability. The postholders will travel to archives and for team meetings and events associated with the project. The four posts correspond with each country covered by the project – Britain and Italy (two posts, University of Bristol); Germany (one post, University of Southampton) and France (one post, Queen Mary, University of London). The closing date for applications is 6 December 2019, with interviews to take place after 13 January 2020.Full details of the posts and how to apply can be found on the following links:
