Thu Oct 24 15:15:35 GMT 2019

ACOP (Association for Communication in Politics) Methods School – 2nd Ed.
Introduction to R for political communication researchers
Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, 13-16 November 2019

Description:
The Association for Communication in Politics (ACOP), with the collaboration of the Department of Communication at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, dedicates the second edition of its Methods School to a course about the R statistical package, of increasing use among social science researchers.

The course is organized around six workshops of three hours each, taught in three consecutive days, preceded by an inaugural lecture. The workshops are addressed to masters’ and PhD students, university researchers and political marketing consultants.

The course offers a unique chance to get introduced to the R statistical package without any previous requirements, illustrating the possibilities of R with examples taken from political communication research (e.g. regression analysis with data from opinion polls, sentiment analysis on Twitter, etc.)

The workshops will be taught in Spanish, though instructors are fluent in English and can respond to queries in that language.
