Australian Journalism Reviewis the flagship publication of the Journalism Education and Research Association of Australia, and is published twice yearly.

AJRpublishes articles on a broad range of perspectives relating to journalism research, practice and education. Its emphasis is on original theoretical, empirical and applied research, but it also provides opportunities to canvass perspectives on current debates about research, practice and education through commentary pieces on specific topics.

AJR welcomes submissions reflecting a broad range of perspectives on journalism research, practice and education. Submission deadlines are February 1 and July 1 of each year, with publication in July and December. The first edition each year is broad-ranging, while the second generally includes a themed section. Recent themes have included sports journalism, safety of journalists and health journalism.

Articles submitted to AJR should be original contributions and not under consideration for any other publication at the same time.

Articles focused on theoretical development and original research should not normally exceed about 6000 words. All articles are double blind peer reviewed.

Article submissions, including a brief abstract of 100 to 150 words, should be sent as an email attachment to the Editor, Kathryn Bowd, at (kathryn.bowd /at/ adelaide.edu.au) <mailto:(kathryn.bowd /at/ adelaide.edu.au)>. Please ensure the name(s) and email addresses of the author(s) are clearly indicated, as well as their formal positions and institutional affiliations.

AJR’s Book Review Editor is Dr Katrina Clifford. She can be contacted at (katrina.clifford /at/ deakin.edu.au) <mailto:(katrina.clifford /at/ deakin.edu.au)>.
