SCHOOL OF ART, MEDIA AND AMERICAN STUDIES
Lecturer in Film Studies - Ref: ATR1488
£33,797 to £40,322 per annum
The School of Art, Media, and American Studies is recruiting a new
lecturer to diversify its provision in the area of film studies.
The successful candidate will have a track record in research,
publications (including practice-based outputs), and grant capture
appropriate to the level of the post, and will make a significant
contribution to the school’s REF 2021 submission.
Additionally, the successful candidate will help to deliver the
curriculum for our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. They will
introduce innovative new material as appropriate in film history and
theory. We will offer encouragement and support to the successful
candidate who will wish to develop creative-critical teaching or who
seeks to develop their teaching in partnership with the creative industries.
This full-time, indefinite post is available from 2 January 2020 or as
soon as possible thereafter (negotiable).
The School of Art, Media, and American Studies is seeking to promote an
equitable representation of men and women among its staff, and the
School encourages applications from women and those from minority ethnic
groups. Appointment will be made on merit.

The University is a Bronze Athena Swan Award holder, currently working
towards Silver.
