[Commlist] Sound Education Conference

Sound Education is an educational audio conference designed for both podcast creators and listeners. The conference is at Boston University, WBUR CitySpace, and Harvard University October 9th -12th, 2019. More information at can be found at www.SoundEducation.FM <http://www.SoundEducation.FM>.


Keynotes feature some of educational audio’s brightest lights, including:

Helen Zaltzman (host of The Allusionist)

Noah Feldman (Harvard Law School Professor and host of the Deep Background)

Mike Duncan (host of Revolutions and The History of Rome)

Julia Barton (Executive Editor, Pushkin Industries)

Tony Phillips (WNYC Studios, VP of On-Demand Content)


Other media scholars, journalists, and pioneers in the program, include:

Rob Boynton (Director of the Literary Reportage program at NYU), Bill Siemering (NPR’s first Program Director), Kerry Donahue (Director of Training, PRX), Anne F. MacLennan (Chair, Department of Communication Studies, York University),Michele Hilmes (author of Only Connect: A Cultural History of Broadcasting), Christopher Lydon (WBUR, known as the first podcaster), and more.
