Universidad de Santiago de Chile announces a public competition to hire 
academics holding a doctoral degree for full-time non-tenured faculty 
positions in the specializations detailed below.

Faculty Of Humanities

School Of Journalism

1 Full Time Position

Profile:

Bachelor degree in social communication, journalism or professional in 
related areas. Doctoral degree in communication or related areas.

Prior experience: Professional in communications with experience in 
teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. Provide evidence or 
experience in directing research teams.

Post requirements:

Teaching: The selected academic shall: Teach subjects related to the 
areas of journalism, communication, and/or the research methodologies in 
the social sciences, preferably in quantitative research methods.

Research: The academic is expected to attain competitive external 
funding grants. Comply with the Chilean national commission for 
accreditation (CNA) individual and group criteria for Social Science, 
Policy and Communication Committee.

Others: The position involves advanced skills in the area of research 
and competencies for the management of graduate programs.

2 Part Time Positions

Profile:

Bachelor degree in social communication, journalism or professional in 
related areas. Doctoral degree in communication or related areas.

Prior experience:Professional in communications with experience in 
teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. At least one year of 
experience in academic management.

Post requirements:

The selected academic shall:Teach subjects relatedto the areas of 
journalism, communication, and/or the research methodologies in the 
social sciences. Guide and mentor senior seminars and graduate theses.

Research:

Develop and strengthen some of the lines of research at the school with 
their work. Comply at least with Chilean national commission for 
accreditation(CNA) individual criteria for Social Science, Policy and 
Communication Committee.

Others: The post assumes responsibility for the management and 
administration of one of the current academic programs of the School of 
Journalism or for the formulation of new programs.
