The University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication 
invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor 
in Immersive Media Psychology based at our Portland campus to begin fall 
2020. We seek an individual whose research, expertise and skills in 
virtual/augmented/extended reality and media psychology will create 
innovative, interdisciplinary research exploring the cognitive 
implications of immersive technologies in the context of communication. 
Applicants must have a PhD in communication, Psychology, informational 
science, human-computer interaction, or a related field in hand by the 
time of appointment; demonstrated potential for teaching and research 
excellence; a record of scholarly accomplishment that includes 
publication in high quality academic journals in communication,

The School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC) at the University of 
Oregon is proud to announce a position for a tenured Full Professor as 
the inaugural holder of an endowed chair in Documentary Studies and 
Production. This hire will join a nationally recognized school that 
emphasizes critical thinking, depth reporting and representation, media 
literacy, experiential learning, and a commitment to social progress and 
diversity. In addition to holding an advanced degree (M.A,\., M>F>A> or 
Ph.D.), ideal candidates will have a record of work befitting an 
incoming endowed chair and professor. Candidates must have prior 
university-level teaching or evidence of ability to teach at the 
university level. Experience teaching at the graduate level is also
