Estimado/a colega:

El grupo de investigación Diversidad Audiovisual 
(www.diversidadaudiovisual.org <http://www.diversidadaudiovisual.org/>) 
de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M, España) – junto a la 
Sección Economía Política de la Asociación Internacional de Estudios en 
Comunicación Social (AIECS) y el Laboratorio de Excelencia en Industrias 
culturales y creación artística (LabEx ICCA, Francia) – organiza el 
seminario internacional *PLATAFORMAS DIGITALES DE LA COMUNICACIÓN Y LA 
CULTURA*.

El seminario busca reunir contribuciones que discutan cómo operan las 
plataformas en línea en nuestras sociedades, intentando dar respuestas a 
interrogantes como: ¿cuáles son las especificidades de la organización 
en plataformas en comparación con otras formas de organización de las 
industrias culturales?, ¿las plataformas en línea contribuyen a la 
diversidad de las expresiones culturales que circulan por las redes?, 
¿son la expresión de un mercado internacional de la comunicación y la 
cultura más concentrado?, ¿cómo se enfrentan a las políticas culturales 
existentes (sobre todo las que regulan el ámbito de las industrias 
culturales), o cómo se apoyan precisamente en estas políticas para 
afianzarse?

El encuentro tendrá lugar el viernes 12 de julio en el campus Puerta de 
Toledo de la UC3M (centro de Madrid) y formará parte de las actividades 
que precederán el Congreso internacional 2019 que la AIECS celebrará en 
la capital española (https://iamcr.org/es/madrid2019-es).

Adjunto a estas líneas encontrará el llamado de trabajos para participar 
del seminario internacional no arancelado. Los trabajos podrán ser 
presentados en cualquiera de las lenguas oficiales de trabajo de la 
AIECS: español, inglés y francés. La fecha límite de recepción de 
propuestas es el próximo 4 de marzo.

*Call for Papers*


The Audiovisual Diversity research group (www.diversidadaudiovisual.org 
<http://www.diversidadaudiovisual.org/>) of Carlos III University of 
Madrid (UC3M, Spain) – together with the Political Economy Section of 
the International Association of Mass Communication Research (IAMCR) and 
the Laboratory of Excellence in Cultural Industries and Artistic 
Creation (LabEx ICCA, France) - organizes the international seminar 
*COMMUNICATION AND CULTURAL DIGITAL PLATFORMS*.

This seminar seeks to gather contributions that discuss how online 
platforms operate in our societies, trying to answer questions such as: 
What are the specificities of the organization in platforms compared to 
other forms of organization of cultural industries? Do the online 
platforms contribute to the diversity of the cultural expressions that 
circulate through the networks? Are they the expression of a more 
concentrated international market of communication and culture? How do 
they face the existing cultural policies (especially those that regulate 
the field of cultural industries), or how do they rely precisely on 
these policies to become stronger?

The meeting will take place on Friday, July 12 at the Puerta de Toledo 
campus of the UC3M (centre of Madrid) and will be part of the activities 
that will precede the 2019 International Congress held by the IAMCR in 
the Spanish capital (https://iamcr.org/madrid2019).

Attached to these lines you will find the call for papers to participate 
in this  international non-tariff seminar. The papers may be submitted 
in any of the official working languages of the IAMCR: English, Spanish 
and French. The deadline for receipt of proposals is next March 4.
