[Commlist] Postdoc research fellowships / Universitat Oberta de Catalunya

  It is now open a call for applications for six places for three-year 
postdoctoral research fellowships at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya 
(UOC). The deadline for applications is 10 March. We are working on two 
lines of research:

- Are social media and platforms fostering deliberation or only more 
polarization ? analysis of how normative deliberative criteria can be 
assessed on online fora, webs, Twitter, Facebook and other settings. 
Methods: manual and automatic coding, and network analysis.

- Are the new participatory platforms changing the way citizens relate 
to government and political parties ? analysis of how the new 
participatory platforms and civic technologies are inducing democratic 
disruptions in the public administration and political parties. Methods: 
web analysis, surveys, interviews.


Researchers awarded a doctoral degree before publication of this call 
for applications may apply.  The decision regarding this call will be 
made public on or after 8 April.
