*Department 8: Psychology *at *Campus Landau, the Institute for
Communication Psychology and Media Pedagogy * wishes to fill the
position vacancy of a
Junior Professorship in Political Psychology (W 1, tenure track)
starting at the beginning of 2019
Tasks:
Research and teaching in Political Psychology. Teaching
responsibilities include courses in the Psychology and Social
Sciences/Communication programs at the Campus Landau on the Bachelor and
Master level. We are looking for a highly qualified person who has
proven her or his research expertise with international publications and
who has acquired third-party funding. A focus on and expertise in Media
and Communication Psychology is desirable. The junior professorship is
expected to contribute to the university’s interdisciplinary research
groups, e.g., “Communication, Media, and Politics”. The initial teaching
load is 4 hours/week (Semesterwochenstunden).
Professional Requirements:
In addition to the requirements specified by the educational law
of the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, the candidate should
have successfully completed a Diploma or Master’s degree in
Psychology, Communication or Political Science at a University, have
teaching experience, and should prove additional scientific
achievements, typically by the outstanding quality of the PhD thesis.
In case the candidate has been employed as a research assistant
before or after receiving a PhD, the duration of employment should not
exceed six years (excl. maternity leave and parental leave).
Junior professors are appointed as civil servants for three years.
In case of positive evaluation, employment will be continued as junior
professor for three more years.
If the Junior Professor fulfills the requirements of the
Higher Education Law (esp. § 50 (5) sentence 3 HochSchG), the
professorship may be turned into a permanent W2-professorship upon
positive tenure evaluation after six years.
The federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the University
of Koblenz-Landau expect teaching staff to be present at the
University regularly.
Women with equal qualification and achievements will be preferred in
case of underrepresentation in accordance with national law.
Candidates with documented disabilities and essentially
equal qualifications will be given preference.
