The Department of Communication Studies at the Vrije Universiteit
Brussel has announced two job openings for 50% doctor assistant
(post-doc) positions.
*Function*
Doctor assistants are expected to assist in education in different
programs of the communication studies department (teaching, supervising
bachelor and master theses - exact teaching package to be decided in
discussion with the candidates) and to perform academic research in the
domain of communication studies.
The research can be in the fields of media studies, cultural studies,
popular culture, discourse studies, media and politics; or innovation,
policy and business, user studies, political economy and international
communication.
Candidates are expected to valorize their doctoral research and publish
in international journals, and to participate in acquiring research
projects connected to the research expertise in the department.
*Profile*
- Doctoral diploma in Communication studies
- Relevant publications in the field of communication studies and
participation in academic conferences
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Experience with coordinating research projects, supervising
researchers or a research team, supervising theses and teaching
experience are a plus
*Deadline* for applications is 10 December 2017.
