Postdoctoral fellowship, UiO, Department of Media and Communication, UiO 
(2 years temporary position).

A two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Media and 
Communication, University of Oslo (MUSEC project) is available.

The Department of Media and Communication's (IMK) main purpose is to 
conduct research, education and dissemination on the modern media, their 
importance for society and for people. IMK has approximately 60 
employees, including 10-12 doctoral candidates. The IMK is ranked as one 
of the top 50 media and communication departments in the world (QS Ratings).

This position is associated with the project Music on Demand: Economy 
and Copyright in a Digitised Cultural Sector (MUSEC).

The overall aim of the project is to provide new insight into how music 
is distributed and paid for in the digital era.

The postdoctoral fellow will work primarily on a work package 
examinining how Norwegian artists, record labels and management groups, 
particularly small and medium-sized ones, are competing in globalised 
markets.

A key method will be a survey covering large sections of the music sector.
