[ecrea] International workshop “Audiovisual Diversity on the Internet: Economics and Policy”
Thu Jun 02 13:28:55 GMT 2016
The international workshop Audiovisual diversity on the Internet:
economics and policy will be held on 3-4 November 2016 at the Faculty of
Humanities, Communication and Documentation (Getafe campus) of Carlos
III University of Madrid (UC3M).
This event aims to reflect on the diversity of the audiovisual industry
within the digital landscape, with special attention not only to
powerful intermediaries who have a decisive role in digital networks but
also to small and medium independent agents (creators, producers,
distributors). It will also examine the implementation of the Convention
on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions
adopted by the UNESCO ten years ago and ratified by 140 countries and
the European Union.
The workshop is organized around four panels that focus on the
governance of international trade in goods and audiovisual services, the
challenges that policies of promotion and protection of the diversity of
the audiovisual industry on the Internet must face, the mapping of
agents and best practices online, and the international cooperation in
cultural matters. In addition, there will be two sessions for the
presentation of papers selected by the Scientific Committee (see call
for papers).

diversity on the Internet: economics and policy welcomes abstracts that
