Call for Applications: ECREA Young Scholars’ Fund for ECC2016

YECREA (Young Scholars Network of the European Communication Research 
and Education Association - ECREA)  is happy to invite young scholars, 
members of YECREA and ECREA, to apply for conference fee funding for the 
6th European Communication Conference, to be held in Prague, 9-12 
November 2016. The call is open until 12 June 2016.

The Young Scholars’ Fund, provided by ECREA, aims to facilitate young 
colleagues’ participation at the biannual European Communication 
Conferences (ECC) in from of conference fee waivers (early bird rate).

Applicants need to ensure that they are:
a) young scholars according to YECREA’s definition (master students, PhD 
students currently completing and up to a year after finishing their 
doctoral degree; post-doc scholars on limited contracts, e.g. 
fixed-term, part-time, non-tenure track positions);
b) members of ECREA and YECREA
c) authors of a submission officially accepted to be presented at the ECC
d) not receiving any other funding resources.

Applications that meet the above criteria will be ranked based on the 
financial need and personal circumstances. Applicants from lower income 
countries (according to World Bank classification, see 
http://data.worldbank.org/about/country-and-lending-groups) and/or with 
high travel costs will be given priority. Additionally, presenting 
authors, first time attendees and those who are not yet holding a PhD 
will be given priority.

Applicants are asked to complete and submit the form (the application 
form can be found here: 
http://www.ecrea.eu/index.php/archive/download/filename/youg_scholars_fund_2016_application_form.pdf), 
together with supporting evidence (including estimated travel and 
accommodation costs, proof of enrollment/student status, confirmation of 
acceptance to present at ECC2016) and a brief statement about their 
personal situation and why they apply for funding to the YECREA 
management team via email (yecreanetwork /at/ gmail.com) until 12 June 2016.

All applicants will be notified two weeks after this deadline.
