Full-time (1.00FTE), Permanent, Teaching forcussed, Department of Film, Theatre & Television, University of Reading

We need a dynamic Lecturer in Performance Practices and Industries to join the enthusiastic team in our lively and creative Department, renowned for its record of excellent teaching and research.

You will contribute to theatre practice teaching in the Department, extend uses of the Department's performance and production spaces (such as facilitating theatre companies in residence), develop relationships with local creative enterprises, create and manage placement and work-based learning opportunities.

You will have:
- the ability to teach by lecture, seminar and workshop
- experience of practical theatre teaching at undergraduate level
- experience of working in professional theatre
- the ability to form links with cultural industries and organisations
- extensive knowledge of theatre working practices and career opportunities
- enthusiasm and commitment; be flexible, caring, proactive and skilled in teamwork.
- basic ITC and general administrative skills

You will contribute to film / television practice teaching in the Department, facilitate industry engagement, develop placement opportunities and provide students with strong connections into potential career opportunities. The ideal candidate would be a practitioner and skilled teacher with established, current industry networks.

You will have:
- the ability to teach and develop modules in film / television at undergraduate level
- the ability to teach film / television practice at undergraduate level
- a record of practice in film or television at a professional level
- extensive knowledge of film / television working practices and career opportunities - enthusiasm and commitment; be flexible, caring, proactive and skilled in teamwork.
- basic ITC and general administrative skills
