[ecrea] PhD Scholarships at RMIT University - Screen Cultures Research Lab

RMIT University (Melbourne) is currently inviting applications for PhD scholarships (http://www.rmit.edu.au/browse;ID=uwpmk8bd4bkbz).

The Screen Cultures Research Lab (http://www.rmit.edu.au/mediacommunication/screencultures) is encouraging applicants with First Class Honours or equivalent qualifications (e.g., Masters by Research), who are interested in undertaking research projects relating to screen studies, screenwriting or screen production.

Topics and approaches we are particularly interested in include, but are not limited to:

• The screen industry – local, national and international
• The history of film and television – and history on film and television
• Screenwriting and screen production practices
• Research methods in screenwriting and screen production
• Issues surrounding the screen practitioner – gender, precarious labour, craft, etc.

You would become a member of the Screen Cultures Research Lab at RMIT University, whose members are experts in the production, analysis and exhibition of critical and contextual works, in relation to the past, present and future. Its members are nationally and internationally recognised across academic, industry, government and community sectors.The lab nurtures a strong research environment with its HDR candidates and contributes to screen culture research in Australia and beyond. It is also home to the Australian Film Institute Research Collection (http://afiresearch.rmit.edu.au/).

Applications close 31 October 2014.
International applicants may also be eligible for a fee waiver and overseas health cover.
