The Department of Media Culture, Catholic University of Lublin is proud
and honoured to invite you to the International Conference "Culture in
media. Media in Culture", to be held in Lublin, Poland, 1-2 April, 2014.
The conference will take place at the Main Campus of the Catholic
University of Lublin, which is located in the Central Eastern part of
Poland.
The conference aims to:
– establish a space for discourse of researchers and scholars who share
an  interest in the studies of culture and media and mediatization of
everyday life;
– promote dialogue among different academic paradigms within media;
– disseminate research on culture and media and to develop academic and
research partnerships.
We believe the main topic of the Conference is wide enough, open and
important, and will inspire you to take part in it. It is recommended to
focus our interests on the following leading session topics:
1) Culture of everyday life in media – lifestyles, norms and values
2) "New" cultures in "new" media: convergence culture, remix culture,
bedroom culture.
3) Political culture – media in politics
4) Popular culture vs national, regional and local culture
5) Media in promotional communication – consumer culture
6) Religion in the media

We are deeply convinced that this Conference will be a great opportunity
to discuss the most important issues regarding relationship between
media and culture in the modern, changing world and will inspire its
participants to a closer collaboriation. The Conference will also
provide an occasion for becoming familiar with the history of Lublin and
